Last night was a nightmare at work. It was an over 14's gig, which we have a lot of, but last night was particularly bad for drunk kids. I I'D'd EVERYONE. I felt really mean but seriously they all looked SO young. For the first half an hour i served only 1 kid a beer who had just turned 18. I refused everyone else. Unbeknown to me, they were all in the downstairs lady's loo downing copious amounts of vodka! I was the only girl bar staff last night and couldn't abandon upstairs to keep checking the loos and by the time i got to check them there were just empty bottles everywhere. I just have to say now that SPAR is the guilty shop as all their booze was in Spar bags! I found the whole night really stressful. Maybe it's payback to me for all the underage drinking that I did! I got really pissed off at the girls drinking in the loos. I mean for fucks sake how rude! I guess they can't get served anywhere like me and my friends used to but they should have some sense and at least drink outside behind a bush or something.
Another thing that pissed me off and nearly caught me out was FAKE driving licenses!! They look really real but i think it was my suspicious mood that made me scrutinise them and realise that they weren't real. One girl even showed me her I.D which made her 18 this december. She spent AGES trying to tell me i was doing my maths wrong and she had turned 18 LAST december. Grr. I'm not fucking stupid. I was glad to finish and have a beer! Luckily noone was sick or had a fight. I think us staff did really well in trying to stop the kids getting booze. It's hard though because it was rammed and no doubt 18 year olds were buying drinks for underagers. We only sold 1 drink per person with I.D which helped the situation but i'm sure they managed to slip a few to kids. Dammit. I don't know why i got so stressed. I think it's because i was dreading any trouble and people throwing up everywhere. Roll on Friday when i'm working an over 18's night.
